FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why do we have a booster club?
Competitive gymnastics is an expensive sport. X-treme Boosters is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide sponsorship and support to Gym X-Treme competitive gymnasts. Our goal is to lower competition expenses through fundraising.

Which payments are made to Gym X-treme? How do I make a payment to the gym?
Monthly tuition for practice, annual team membership fee, and uniforms are made to the gym (the booster club is not involved with these payments in any way). These fees are paid through the office directly to Gym X-treme by cash, check or credit card.

Which payments are made to X-treme Boosters?
Administrative/Club membership fee, meet entry fees, and coaches fees are made to boosters (the gym is not involved with these payments in any way).

How do I make a payment to X-treme Boosters?
Each gymnast has an account in our Quickbooks software for invoicing booster club related expenses. You will receive invoices by email. Due dates and payment instructions are included with each invoice. A $20 late fee applies each month to any payment not received by the due date. There is a Booster Box on the wall in the gym lobby for booster related payments. Checks are made payable to X-treme Boosters, Inc. We also have an option for paying by credit card (processing fees apply), and through Chase QuickPay/Zelle (no fees).

What is the Administrative/Club membership fee?
The Administrative/Club Membership Fee is $60 – due by September 4. These fees cover our administrative expenses (insurance, accounting software, banquet, office expenses, etc.). This fee is non-refundable.

What are meet entry fees?
Meet Entry Fees are based on our competitive season schedule and are determined by each gym hosting a meet. Your total amount due for meet entry fees will depend on the number of meets and the level in which your daughter competes. Meet entry fees are due by September 15.

What are coaches fees?
The coaches fee budget covers coaching expenses related to competitive events (team entry fees, session fees, travel expenses, USAG required memberships/training). The total amount due for coaches fees vary each season based on the number of meets on our schedule and the amount of travel related expenses associated with our competition season. Coaches fees are due by October 15.

How do we benefit from fundraising?
Nonprofit law dictates that fundraising is to be shared equally by all booster club members. Our fiscal year runs from July 1 – June 30. At the end of each year, all profits are divided equally amongst the gymnasts returning to the team from the previous season. This amount is posted to your booster account as a fundraising credit to be applied toward your competition expenses. These credits can only be applied to future expenses and cannot be paid out to individuals. Each year our fundraising credit has increased, allowing for a larger credit toward competition expenses for each season.

Are there any fundraisers that will directly benefit my daughter based on my own individual efforts?
The Scrip rebate program is the only fundraising option that credits an individual account. You are highly encouraged to read about the Scrip rebate program in our fundraising materials and use this program to your fullest advantage.

What is our biggest fundraiser?
The X-treme Challenge (the meet we host) is our biggest fundraiser. That weekend, each family will commit to volunteering a number of hours set by the meet coordinators. This is a great way to not only raise funds, but also to get to know other families at the gym. We had a great experience last season and our families found it to be fun and worth the time and effort!

What other fundraisers can I expect?
Approximately 4 times a year, we will host a fundraiser that sells a product (candy bars, pizza kits, pastries etc.). We also participate in Kroger Community Rewards and Amazon Smile continuously throughout the year. Other fundraisers include restaurant nights and a used leo sale.

How is communication handled between parents and the booster club?
Email is our primary source of communication. Please contact us at xtremeboosters@outlook.com as needed. X-treme Boosters will also post information to our Facebook page (this same information will also be sent by email so you don’t miss important details).

When are the booster club meetings? What if I can’t attend?
You will find the dates for our meetings on the calendar provided for each season. Meetings can be held in person or virtually.  Email notices will be sent to remind you of the dates and outline the agenda. Attendance is not mandatory unless specified in the meeting notice. If you cannot attend and you have an agenda item you want to address, please contact us by email before the meeting.
